Living the Dream Tour begins with "Republic Day of India" Celebration

On Sunday, January 29 at 10:00 AM Living the Dream will be performed for 250 Indian students and their families celebrating "Republic Day" the commemoration of the Constitution of India.


Living the Dream 2012 deals with the practical application of nonviolence principles from Dr. Martin Luther King and Mohandas Gandhi as they apply to the home, school and community. Using music, dance and drama youth from age 7-19 will provide both education and entertainment.

Evening With Sandra Tamari: Palestinian-American Activist

Sunday, January, 29 at 2:30 p.m. at University City Library (6701 Delmar Boulevard)

Sandra Tamari, a Palestinian-American activist, will address recent questions raised by Republican presidential candidates about Palestinian identity and outline Palestinian demands for an end to the Israeli occupation, equality for Palestinians inside Israel, and a just resolution to the plight of Palestinian refugees. The talk will focus on concrete steps individuals and organizations can take to help achieve peace in Israel and Palestine. All are welcome.

Over the last decade or so, Asif Umar has practiced an unusual Ramadan tradition. The 27-year-old St. Charles native, who started last week as the new imam at the largest mosque in the area, celebrates the end of Islam's holiest month by going to a Blues game with his buddies.

 
 
 

A Picnic of Poems: Dawud Wharnsby's New Album Concert!

The Muslim Student Association at Maryville University is proud to host the return of the internationally renowned folk artist and poet, Dawud Wharnsby**. He will be performing on February 17th at 7pm as part of his 30 city national tour to promote his new triple album, "A Picnic of Poems," and poetically rich & spiritually uplifting Folk-Rock music. Dawud will be joined by friend/fellow songwriter, Saad Omar.
